Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

A common barrier to therapy is not knowing what to expect from the first appointment onwards. I have created this section of my website to help provide answers to questions that may be keeping you from taking that first step.

How are you different from therapists I've worked with in the past? +

My goal is to empower you to move forward and break free from being “stuck.” Some forms of therapy may concentrate more on the past rather than the present or future, but simply gaining insight is not enough to drive growth. We will work together to uncover unproductive patterns that are hindering your progress and, with empathy and kindness, develop healthier ways to fulfill your needs and live a more fulfilling life.

My  approach incorporates evidence-based interventions.

At the start of our therapy, you will complete a baseline assessment, and you will continue to do so at regular intervals throughout our work together. This will allow us to measure your progress and ensure that you are deriving benefits from therapy.

How does this work? +

The first step towards working together is to schedule your free consultation phone call. I believe that the best way to assess whether we are a good fit to work together is to jump right in and have a conversation! During this phone call you will get to know me and I will get to know you and learn more about your therapy goals. At the end of the call, you will decide if you think we are a good fit.

Next, we will schedule your intake appointment. This is the paperwork appointment where we dot the I’s, cross the T’s and complete your intake paperwork. We will also review your history and discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and how I can help you.

Finally, we dive in! After the intake appointment, we will have our first session. The sessions are tailored to each individual client and based on your needs that day. We will discuss your goals, your life, and how we can work together to identify how I can support you in the healing process.

Do you offer video sessions? +

Yes! I offer in-person appointments as well as virtual care.

How long will I be in therapy? +

Depending on your needs and goals, we can determine together how long would be most helpful and beneficial to you
